Recycling and Restoring
About the Breath
The breath is such an integral part of our experience, internally, within the body, and externally. This week's meditation focuses on the process of taking in the breath and recycling it, to be shared, and the inherent connection to each other and to nature in this process.
"Internal respiration or cellular breathing establishes the integrity of each cell and it's relationship to it's internal environment. External respiration or lung breathing establishes our own personal separateness and our relationship to our external air environment." (Bonnie Choen, Sensing, Feeling, and Action)
Breathwork in our meditation practice highlights the importance of internal awareness and internal balance as well as external awareness, external balance. This synergistic relationship with our environment goes on and on without our conscious awareness, but tuning in, attuning to it helps us to connect to the internal state of balance and the external state of support, or structure that creates a supportive and nourishing environment for us. Always ongoing, recycling and restoring.
Namaste,
Alison
